My Sar Bear heading to 80's bday party!

My "Banana" at a birthday party!

My sweet boy, VBS!

I looked through my Pottery Barn and William Sonoma catalog today and felt inspired to create a softer, warmer home with amazing throw pillows and cook more home made soups with beautiful French copper pots-- then, I put frozen orange chicken in the oven from Trader Joes and decided to use my Ikea plastic plates for the kids? How did my inspiration zap so quickly?? Oh well... Catalogs I will revisit you, I promise!!

Jon is on a large fire tonight in Warner Springs and the usual occurs because of it, we have to cancel our redo anniv dinner date night and sitter- but the welling sense of pride and love for Jon rises to a high knowing he is doing something he loves and helping others along the way. I hope my kids someday respect the acts of service their dad exemplifies and definitely choose a job that serves others in a profGod honored way

I love you so much Jon Christopher Heggie thank you for bringing so much honor to our family...

I just the insane 11 year old girl who can sing like an opera singer in an interview and when asked what's the best part about being able to sing so incredibly well, her answer was SO profound to me " so others can see and believe that miracles REALLY do happen" I loved that-- don't we all in our everyday lives need to know that miracles do happen? I do! Thank you sweet 11 year old girl for the nugget tonight :)

Running stairs at the local high school today I noticed a shift in my stride when I

Focused on the next step in front of me the incline ahead seemed far away but when I focused my eyes at the very top my run seemed easier- I thank God for His heavenly perspective on my life during a simple exercise run today...

My little 4 year old Hannah made her first phone call to a friend today on the drive home from Costco and she kept saying in the phone " ask me more questions then I will ask you more" SO cute she loved it and felt big girl! Jon and I felt like we shared a moment listening to her in the backseat that was precious and special!

Kids love rattlesnake excitement!

Rattlesnake in our yard! Ugh

Families that bring me joy...

The last few weeks we have had the chance to 'break bread' with a couple of families that truly are bringing us joy and love in a way worth noting.

There are just some families that when you are with them, the conversation is easy; the topics are light, funny or deep; the food is appreciated and delicious; the kids get along and laugh together; the open feeling in sharing is present; the marriages in these couples is solid and real; the appreciation of little, sweet child moments is noted; there is no parenting judgement; at the end, you wish it could last longer...

Two families we feel like this is the Neale family and the Avats family. Now, the Heggie goal: bring them together! Ha ha

Jon and I always leave time with these folks 'better for the experience' and inspired and excited--

We love these people and look forward to investing in these friendships for many years to come!!

I'm so thankful God intersected our lives with these two families...

4th of July Weathertons Heggie's!

Words with friends (and other thoughts)

My dearest friend Lori Musel has started me on an app called Words with Friends..it has me semi addicted and I self admit this. It's scrabble wtih your friends. I feel like I am paying homage to my gramma who loved scrabble and I am realizing how much I need a NEW VOCAB that is longer than 3 letter words! ugh...

Made me begin to contemplate allowing learning/computer games back into the kids lives for a bit this summer??? Not decided yet, praying about it and realize also the propensity of each kid different but Luke will definitely desire this "medium" a lot more than others and that alone makes me nervous. Oct this year will be 2 years without the option and I think the kids are very creative and imaginary without computer/TV extremes.

Verdict still out , we shall see...in the meantime, my first phone computer game has a hold on me-so off to scrabble away..

Yes to our family!

There seem to be many days where I CHOOSE to embrace the chaos of our family and all it's faults, quirks and nuances. On those days, I always feel more blessed than getting aggrivated by the chaos. On the days I CHOOSE to "make it great day" even when Jon at the fire station I begin to fall in WONDER and AWE of my sweet kiddos, rather than allow frustration and disappointment to mount. I am so glad God gives me gentle nudges to CHOOSE HIM and His ways in down times of life, simply put. I am currently longing to spend more time with extended family and my gutt is telling me it is not a mutual feeling. I am attempting to accept that fact and create extensions and laughter from all that I have within my current immediate family. I loved yesterday and the 4th of July with the Druxman family and realize each time I have  a BLESSED day that we are RICH beyond meausre b/c of our love for Jesus, our hopeFUL family, and our amazing, inspiring friends we have circled around ourselves. I wanted to write this down as a reminder on those DOWN days that I have everything and my needs are met; my buckets are full, even when I forget. Heck, we live in AMERICA which brings me joy and we love the LORD--enough said.  Jon you work so very hard and I SO APPRECIATE your ethic, your spirit and your commitment to support our family. We are high-fiving you from a distance every time you are at work--your SERVICE to others shines through to us as kids and your wife. Love you all Heggie clan, even as crazy and not well mannered as we'd like to be...Thank you military for working so hard for our freedoms in the country. xoxo
