I left a friends today that had BBQ'd herself on the grill lunch for kids... Motivated I came home ready to do the same! My kids screamed " wait! Are you sure you can BBQ? Has daddy taught you how to use the grill? Mom why don't you just wait for daddy the microwave is fine." Mommy deflated I went out to grill attempted to turn it on, came back in and agreed with kids, I need a lesson from daddy before attempting anything that big! Ha ha

As Luke my 6 yr left the shower tonight and I mentioned getting his clothes on after - he didn't understand why they were immediately HARD to put on and sticking to him? I said that I was SO SORRY I forgot to tell him to dry off first!!!! My bad, I know you are only 6 yrs, I cannot leave out a critical step like that! Ugh and Ha ha Oh "boys" always making me giggle!

Sappy Heggie moment while watering the flowers in my backyard- my blooming, beautiful flowers tended to be close to other blooming flowers and the ones not doing so great are kind of by themselves in the flower bed with a random weed nearby; like great friends you tend to "bloom" when you are surrounded by others that are
"blooming and joyful"- and if you leave the "weed" and don't get rid of it- there's no extra room for another beautiful flower/friend! Thankful for ALL of my friends today I appreciate you!

So loving that my Sarah is into the summer reading program at the library this year! Feels great for me to see kids excited to read and incentivized to do so in a healthy way!! Great day with VBS and swimming at La Costa w Lisa-- cloudy a bit and still fabulous!! Love u kiddos with this summer fun!! Xoxo
I sat w a great friend Lori Neale discussing some serious health issues etc tears in eyes and deep conversation on both our ends-phone rings church calling her to see if she needed any prayer requests- divine intervention? Random? No way God is real, alive and present in others IN ORDER that we may see Him in everyday life-- the key to me- is having our eyes open enough to see God more than the phone call-- we both shared the faith story of that instance more than a few times these last few days and what an honor to share Jesus with a great friend- our hearts knitted together through God not the time we spend together solely. I am touched by moments like those and wanted to pause to make sure my sweet kiddos someday look AND see God outside of church and Sunday school and if I've done my parenting as I desire- they can say they saw Jesus in me- that would be my greatest compliment as a mother ever--nothing would top that-- and on the flip of that- the greatest compliment someone could give me about any of my kids is that they can serve, know and LOVE Jesus! Xoxo

Summer is here feeling energized hopeful and excited for all that awaits my family! My morning has been great and it's only 7:30am! The kids are getting along, being helpful and we are happy-- even if all fleeting it feels great to
start a Monday with a new free feeling as a mom- open and reachable to my kids- what they have to offer me in personality laughter and love- their style-- ask me at 5pm today if that will all be gone but who cares- for this hour I am thrilled to be their mommy and Jon's wife and that's all that matters. Thank you God for loaning me my kids and allowing me to " study" them in order to grow my faith in you Lord- I can't imagine a more important job, class or storefront to shop in!
Love Heather

Sarah is on a roll tonight after prayers she says " I don't think I am going to get married mom" I say
" really why not?" she says well since I KNOW I will be an actress on stage and TV and if I get married it means you have to have a baby Soooo who would watch the baby while I'm being the actress?" WAIT " you and daddy can watch the baby! I can get married now! Yeah!" I laughed and kissed my dreamy girl! :)

Jon called our dogs tonight the " other two kids" so sweet and kind of him Maisie and Scout your daddy really loves you-- Luke too-- aww I do too, but not as unconditionally and I am sorry about that- I know I get too aggravated watching my flowers destroyed for the 1000th time-- I should let it go more...I promise to work on it...
Read Dr Seuss " Oh the Places You'll Go" to kids tonight made me smile thinking of receiving this book as I graduated college in 1993! Great message and what a fun read! Thanks kids for a great pick in the reading line up!! Thanks old friend Nicole for giving this book to me- loved seeing your name inside front cover!
Hannah says to me while putting her to bed " I sure hope I get those things on my chest like other mommies so I can be a teacher someday!" I
Clarify asking " boobies?" she says yes and "says then I can teach kids and be grown up"-- made me laugh and chuckle and was so random had to write it down!! Also she cried today again because I wore exercise clothes in the morning instead of a pretty dress-- this girl is a riot at age four!! Love you though honey you keep me on my toes!! You are pure JOY!

I have always wanted to write and the platform I dreamed of years ago never would have been called "blogging" but here we go. The purpose behind my blog is simply to capture my family memories, thoughts and loves of my life--in writing, as a legacy builder.
We (Jon and I) just returned from Cabo with friends and no precious children by our side--four glorious days and completely rejuvinated! Praise the Lord that we were able to have loving grandparents take care of our sweet babes and allow the time together. We had an amazing time and can't wait to return again and/or plan our next "adult trip."
Love my kids and love missing them--love my husband and love appreciating him away from the "daily grind" of life and chaos (and fun)...
